News and Public Affairs Programming on WORT 89.9 FM

The story about the news

WORT airs a variety of news and public affairs programming, including morning, midday, and evening shows staffed entirely by volunteers from the community, as well as excellent syndicated programs that bring national and international news and analysis to the airwaves.

The weekday news schedule includes an hour-long locally produced morning show, a midday call-in and news block, and an evening news and public affairs block. WORT also airs several news and public affairs shows on Sunday.

How do I get on one of WORT's news shows?

Please refer to the "Get on the Air" section of this website. You can also simply send an email to K.P. at newsfac(at)wort-fm.org.


Can I get a copy of a WORT news program?

Yes you can! We can make a CD copy of any WORT news or public affairs program for you for $10. We can also simply post mp3 audio files of your requested program to our website for you to download for free. For either option, send an email to K.P. at newsfac(at)wort-fm.org, indicating the date and program you want a copy of, as well as the preferred format (CD or mp3).

We also have a brand new Audio Archive of all our news & public affairs programs. Stream, download, or podcast any or all of our talk programs! All programs are free to download and play over and over.
